Cisco ThousandEyes Employee Perspectives

Innovation League: AI in Action Hackathon

Nearly 1,700 participants and more than 470 teams from across Cisco came together around a question that is rapidly becoming central to the future of engineering: How do we design systems where AI does not just assist engineers, but actively helps operate, diagnose, and evolve the infrastructure itself?

What followed was exactly what you hope to see when engineers are given the space to experiment. Teams pushed boundaries, challenged assumptions, and demonstrated how AI can fundamentally reshape the way we design systems, write software, and deliver value for customers.

During the awards ceremony, Jeetu Patel joined us live and shared an important perspective on how quickly the software development lifecycle is evolving. The teams that learn to work with AI as a true collaborator will define the next era of engineering.

What stood out most throughout the hackathon was the mindset. Across teams, there was a willingness to lean into the challenge of building in an AI driven world. That curiosity and willingness to experiment is exactly the culture we need to keep fostering.
