Position: Simulation Engineer
Location: Madrid, Hybrid (3 days in the office )
The Job
The Pipeline Simulation Group within AVEVA's Engineering practice is responsible for the worldwide delivery and support of pipeline simulation technology. The primary application product is used to model oil & gas pipeline hydraulic and control behavior.
This position is responsible to deliver simulation solutions to our pipeline customers in the Oil & Gas industry. The engineer will work as part of larger project teams and complete assignments to deliver the final solution to meet the needs of the customer. This work will include design documentation, implementation, testing, customer training and site commissioning.
Responsibilities

Design, configuration, and implementation of pipeline simulation solutions using AVEVA’s Pipeline Integrity Monitor modeling application.

Development of project documentation including the Functional Design Specification, Acceptance Test Procedures, and custom user documentation.

Participate as a member of a larger team in project implementation and delivery to customers.

Work directly with customers to understand customer’s needs and requirements.

Travel to client sites will be required (approximately 10%).
Skills & Qualifications
-
Background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, hydraulic behavior.
-
Knowledge of model simulation.
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process or Petroleum Engineering.

Up to 5 years of experience in software application deployment, development or service, preferably in the Oil or Gas Pipeline Simulation industry.

Up to 5 years of general experience in Oil and Gas pipeline transportation or related industry.
-
Planning, problem solving, customer relationships, teamwork, quality assurance, interpersonal communications.
-
Proven written and verbal communication skills in English.
Beneficial Skills:
-
C++ and/or Fortran or other coding experience is beneficial.

Basic computer networking knowledge is beneficial.
