PW UK Senior Technical Writer will work with Product Line Management (PLM), Development/Eng, QA, and Professional Services team to develop product documentation for a telecommunications product.

Must have experience doing technical writing for telecom features and have an understanding of the software/hardware development lifecycle.

What you'll do:

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of our product and documentation requirements
  • Produce high-quality documentation in accordance with the PW guidelines
  • Adept at writing feature Description documentation
  • Translation of Customer Requirements into a CRD document
  • Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
  • Revise existing documentation as required and requested
  • Edit images using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or similar tools as needed
  • Attend meetings with customer to capture their requirements

What you'll have:

  • Significant experience of technical writing for telecom industry with a big bonus if its RAN or Core related
  • Experience working in wireless telecommunication or networking environment
  • Understanding of telecom architecture for 2G/3G/4G/5G, LTE, NR
  • Some basic knowledge of telecom protocols
  • Fluent proficiency in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience in creating high-quality documentation with attention to formatting, voice, audience, and detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Sound judgment, strong sense of ethics, ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and business acumen, as well as the ability to hold high-level conversations with managers and technical staff

Preferred qualifications and experiences:

  • University degree in technical writing, English, journalism, communications, or computer science
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence wiki pages
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint as a document management system
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio to create diagrams and flowcharts

  • Prior multi years of experience in writing below documents would be a bonus:
  • a. Feature Description documents
  • b. Counters/Alarms/KPI documents
  • c. Product manuals
  • d. Installation guides
  • e. MOPs (Method of Operating Procedures)
  • f. Test Plans and Test Exit Report
