About the job

As our Senior Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in transforming our documentation strategy to support our scaling ambitions. You'll lead the development of a comprehensive partner portal that will enable third-party implementation partners to successfully sell and implement our SaaS Content Marketing Platform. This is a strategic initiative that will directly impact our company's growth trajectory.

Working at the intersection of product, engineering, implementation, and partnership teams, you'll evaluate existing documentation, establish best practices, and create an organized, accessible knowledge base that clearly explains how our highly configurable product works. This is an opportunity to build something from the ground up and make a significant impact on our business.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive documentation strategy and partner portal to support third-party implementation partners
  • Evaluate existing documentation across the organization and create a coherent plan to consolidate, organize, and improve it
  • Establish documentation templates, style guides, and standards to ensure consistency and clarity
  • Translate complex product configurations and implementation processes into clear, accessible documentation
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and implementation teams to understand the intricacies of our platform
  • Research and recommend the most appropriate documentation platform for our partner portal needs
  • Create comprehensive guides on product configuration, best practices, and implementation standards
  • Manage the partner portal project from conception to launch
  • Hire and mentor other technical writers
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from internal teams and implementation partners to continuously improve documentation
  • Ensure all documentation remains up-to-date with new product versions, releases, and features
Requirements

Besides being fun to work with, you...

  • Have at least 8 years of experience as a technical writer, preferably for other enterprise SaaS products
  • Possess exceptional written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple, clear language
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills and experience leading documentation initiatives
  • Have experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing documentation platforms or content management systems
  • Are familiar with Confluence and similar knowledge base systems
  • Can quickly grasp complex product configurations and implementation processes without necessarily having a technical background
  • Have experience creating and maintaining style guides and documentation standards
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior team members
  • Are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to gather information and understand documentation requirements
  • Have a proactive, "can-do" attitude with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Are adaptable to changing priorities and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Have experience working with or documenting for implementation partners (preferred)
  • Have knowledge of marketing technology platforms or similar SaaS products (preferred)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a company recognized as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Content Marketing Platforms. You'll have the chance to make a significant impact by enabling our scaling strategy through documentation excellence.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
