This is a hands-on software engineering role where you'll work across backend services, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and data platforms to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions. You'll collaborate closely with experienced engineers, product stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges while continuing to develop your own skills and expertise.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure or GCP also considered)

  • Exposure to serverless architectures such as AWS Lambda

  • Experience working with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB

  • Good understanding of software design principles and modern development practices

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue

  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Understanding of microservices and distributed systems

  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code and cloud automation

  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments

Please note: We offer flexible hybrid working, but candidates should be based in Northern Ireland and able to attend our Belfast office when required.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
