About the Role

The position combines people leadership, stakeholder management, operational excellence, project delivery, and continuous process improvement.

The Data Operations Manager is responsible for the effective management, governance, quality, and operational use of customer data across the organization. The role leads a team responsible for delivering data operation services to primarily Marketing but also other business stakeholders while ensuring compliance with RELX data privacy regulations and internal RELX governance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily Data Operations activities across systems and teams, ensuring efficient delivery, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure high standards of customer and account data quality, integrity, governance, and GDPR/privacy compliance.
  • Manage data access, uploads, segmentation, campaign readiness, and escalated CRM or data-related issues.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Data Operations team, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused, and high-performing culture.
  • Translate business requirements into effective data solutions and drive process optimization and automation to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead targeting and segmentation initiatives, including support for CDP development, to improve campaign effectiveness and commercial outcomes.
  • Develop and enhance KPIs, dashboards, reporting, and measurement frameworks to track operational, campaign, and data performance.
  • Partner with commercial and cross-functional stakeholders to provide actionable insights, continuously improve service delivery, and support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in Data Operations, CRM, Data Management, or a related operational function.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing a team.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, GDPR, and data privacy principles.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, data platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience creating and enhancing dashboards and operational reports.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical and scalable data solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests and competing deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.

Verantwortlichkeiten:
  • Steuerung der täglichen Data-Operations-Aktivitäten über verschiedene Systeme und Teams hinweg sowie Sicherstellung einer effizienten Umsetzung, Priorisierung und Ressourcenplanung.
  • Sicherstellung hoher Standards hinsichtlich Qualität, Integrität und Governance von Kunden- und Account-Daten sowie der Einhaltung von DSGVO- und Datenschutzanforderungen.
  • Verantwortung für Datenzugriffe, Daten-Uploads, Segmentierungen, die Vorbereitung von Kampagnen sowie die Bearbeitung eskalierter CRM- oder datenbezogener Fragestellungen.
  • Führung, Coaching und Weiterentwicklung des Data-Operations-Teams mit dem Ziel, eine kollaborative, kundenorientierte und leistungsstarke Teamkultur zu fördern.
  • Übersetzung geschäftlicher Anforderungen in effektive Datenlösungen sowie kontinuierliche Optimierung und Automatisierung von Prozessen zur Steigerung der operativen Effizienz.
  • Leitung von Targeting- und Segmentierungsinitiativen, einschließlich der Unterstützung bei der Weiterentwicklung einer Customer Data Platform (CDP), um die Wirksamkeit von Kampagnen und den kommerziellen Erfolg zu verbessern.
  • Entwicklung und Optimierung von KPIs, Dashboards, Reportings und Messkonzepten, um operative Performance sowie Kampagnen- und Datenperformance transparent zu machen.
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit kommerziellen und funktionsübergreifenden Stakeholdern, um umsetzbare Erkenntnisse bereitzustellen, die Servicequalität kontinuierlich zu verbessern und datenbasierte Entscheidungen zu unterstützen.
Qualifikationen:
  • Fundierte Berufserfahrung in den Bereichen Data Operations, CRM, Data Management oder einer vergleichbaren operativen Funktion.
  • Nachweisbare Erfahrung in der Führung, im Coaching und in der Weiterentwicklung von Teams.
  • Sehr gutes Verständnis von Datenqualität, Data Governance, DSGVO und Datenschutzgrundsätzen.
  • Erfahrung im Umgang mit CRM-Systemen, Datenplattformen und Reporting-Tools.
  • Ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten sowie Erfahrung in der Erstellung und Weiterentwicklung von Dashboards und operativen Reports.
  • Fähigkeit, geschäftliche Anforderungen in praktikable und skalierbare Datenlösungen zu übersetzen.
  • Hervorragende Organisations- und Priorisierungsfähigkeiten sowie die Fähigkeit, mehrere Anforderungen und konkurrierende Deadlines gleichzeitig zu managen.
  • Ausgeprägte Fähigkeiten im Stakeholder-Management und in der Kommunikation sowie eine kooperative und kundenorientierte Arbeitsweise.
