Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will be the catalyst for new business opportunities, identifying qualified leads within the fleet management and transportation sectors and initiating meaningful conversations that fuel our sales pipeline.

You will work collaboratively with our sales team to ensure a seamless customer journey from initial contact through to handover, whilst maintaining meticulous attention to detail and consistently exceeding targets. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions are recognised and valued.

  • Generate qualified sales opportunities through strategic outbound prospecting targeting fleet operators, logistics companies, and transportation businesses; engage prospects through systematic follow-up on referrals and marketing enquiries
  • Contact existing and prospective customers in the fleet management and telematics space to identify new business opportunities, understand their operational challenges, and present relevant connected vehicle and IoT solutions that drive value
  • Re-engage prospects from previous campaigns, dormant opportunities, and past enquiries to maximise conversion potential and pipeline growth within the telematics sector
  • Build, manage, and nurture a healthy sales pipeline by systematically tracking opportunities, ensuring timely progression, and maintaining organised records of all customer interactions within our CRM system
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Executives to ensure smooth handovers and seamless customer experiences from initial engagement through to sale
  • Accurately record and update all customer interactions, pipeline activity, and sales opportunities within our CRM system with precision and consistency
  • Conduct thorough research and qualification of leads to ensure only high-quality opportunities aligned with our telematics solutions are advanced to the sales team
  • Consistently achieve individual activity targets, pipeline development goals, and referral metrics whilst contributing to the broader success of the team
  • Provide feedback and insights on market trends, customer pain points in fleet operations, and competitive intelligence to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience in lead generation, outbound prospecting, or business development within a B2B sales environment, ideally within the telematics, fleet management, or transportation technology sectors
  • Demonstrated understanding of connected vehicle technology, IoT solutions, and telematics platforms, with the ability to articulate their value to fleet operators and logistics businesses
  • Demonstrated ability to qualify leads effectively and understand customer needs through active listening and consultative questioning, particularly regarding fleet operational challenges and vehicle management requirements
  • Strong telephone and email communication skills with the ability to engage prospects professionally and build rapport quickly, whilst explaining technical telematics concepts in accessible terms
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and manage your own workload independently
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding activity targets, KPIs, and sales metrics in a goal-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and optimise your approach based on performance insights within the telematics and fleet management space
  • Resilience and persistence with the ability to handle rejection professionally and maintain motivation in a competitive environment
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also taking ownership of individual responsibilities
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all customer interactions and data management

Desired:

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and ability to accurately record, organise, and manage customer data and pipeline information relevant to telematics sales cycles
  • Sales certifications or formal training in sales methodologies and techniques
  • Experience in the telematics, fleet management, transportation, logistics, or automotive technology sectors

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
