While this is primarily an inside sales position, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake approximately 10% travel within the territory for customer meetings, relationship-building activities, and key account visits.

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver against territory revenue targets through new business development and account growth.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and lead generation activities.
  • Manage relationships with existing customers, ensuring a high level of engagement and customer satisfaction.

  • Identify competitive opportunities and drive the adoption of Oxford Nanopore solutions across your market.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, forecasting, and account planning using Salesforce and other sales enablement tools.

About you

We're looking for someone who combines commercial drive with strong relationship-building skills and a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers succeed.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in inside sales, account management, business development, or a similar customer-facing commercial role.
  • A track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence engaging customers through phone, video, email, and occasional face-to-face meetings.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • A willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time within the West Territory for customer visits and internal meetings.
  • Previous experience in life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare, or another technical/scientific industry would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Why join Oxford Nanopore?

  • Be part of a company at the forefront of genomics innovation.
  • Work with cutting-edge technology that is having a real impact on science and healthcare globally.
  • Join a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team.
  • Benefit from ongoing learning, development, and career growth opportunities.
  • Help deliver our vision of enabling the analysis of anything, by anyone, anywhere.

If you're a motivated sales professional looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your career in a fast-growing technology business, we'd love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
