Job Description

The EUC Solution Architect will sit in the Health Architecture Practice of Telefonica Tech working in a solution and project leadership role with large managed service customers.

The EUC Solution Architect will work under direction of the Chief Architect to lead and deliver on large managed service project workstreams. The majority of work will be in a clinical environment, leading, planning and operationalising solutions and change while safeguarding uptime of a critical clinical services. 

Examples of current work / pipeline: 

  • Managed Service and End User Compute Transition/Rollouts of services from legacy environments to management platforms and managed services. 
  • Design and Integration of EUC environments into wider infrastructure, working with application and business architects to meet customer requirements. 
  • Working as part of a wider architectural team 
  • Endpoint integration projects delivering oversight, management and integration leadership on commissioning new infrastructure and associated services for large managed service clients. 
  • Application/Endpoint Integration projects delivery, oversight and architectural guidance 

The role involves interact directly with clients, 3rd parties and other members of the Telefonica Tech organisation to manage and deliver large client facing programmes.

The candidate will possess deep service integration knowledge and can liaise with 3rd party application vendors and customers to understand requirements, translate these into solutions and actionable plans and deliver through to fulfilment. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Understanding complex requirements and translating into solutions 
  • Understanding managed services and how to lead change in managed service environments. 
  • EUC Design experience – Omnissa Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktop, Microsoft SCCM, M365 InTune , Microsoft Server/Desktop Operating Systems, Printer Management, Security Controls and Secure by Default of End User Compute.
  • Endpoint/Application integration, working with project managers, domain architecture peers and leading technical implementation resource through delivery of designs aligned to plans 
  • Service integration work with a large enterprise managed service teams allowing for multi-tower joined up, time sensitive change delivery 
  • Technical leadership for change 
  • RAID creation, management and escalation 
  • 3rd party management and negotiation 
  • Client facing consultancy. 
  • Getting buy-in from technical teams to deliver to change and migration runbooks 
  • Effective escalation to programme team 
  • Trusted advisor to technical teams 
  • Chairing regular meetings with clients, technical architects, service managers, and other internal teams as required 
  • Reporting on progress, raise issues and queries, and obtaining decisions (both written & in meetings)

Skills & Experience:

As a Networking Pre-Sales Architect you are required to understand Telefónica Tech UK’s network services and how they can be integrated to solve traditional end customer business issues. The portfolio is diverse and covers multiple vendors with Cisco, Cisco Meraki & Fortinet making up our strategic service offerings. An agnostic approach and understanding is required across multiple platforms.

Experience (essential): 

  • 5+ years’ experience as an EUC Solution Architect in an Enterprise Environment 
  • Requirements to solution translation 
  • Creation of High- and Low-Level Designs 
  • Solution Leadership in delivering designs and working with technical implementation peers as point of escalation during implementation phase.
  • Confident in dealing with and delivering for customers. 
  • Service integration of disparate service offerings into solutions 
  • High Level project plan creation and mapping 
  • Operationalising runbooks into technical change 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word & Excel 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent communicator 
  • Good organisational skills 
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Proactivity and uses initiative. 

Experience (desirable): 

  • Knowledge of requirements translation to design process 
  • Gap analysis 
  • Knowledge of Project Management processes
  • Experience in a service management environment 
  • Experience with ServiceNow
