At Stepful, we take a market-driven and transparent approach to compensation, designed to be competitive, fair, and supportive of long-term growth.

We regularly benchmark our pay against high-growth companies at a similar stage, aiming to be competitive around the upper-middle of the market. Each role has a clearly defined salary range, giving us the flexibility to account for experience, scope, and performance while maintaining consistency across the organization.

Compensation is also thoughtfully aligned to location. Hybrid roles are benchmarked to the New York City market, while remote roles are benchmarked to comparable U.S. markets, ensuring pay remains fair and competitive regardless of where team members are based.

Our salary ranges are reviewed and refreshed twice a year and are designed to support growth within a role over time, not just at the point of promotion. This means employees can see meaningful pay progression as they deepen their impact and responsibilities.

In addition to salary and performance-based bonuses, equity is a core part of total compensation at Stepful. Employees are eligible to receive equity grants, giving them the opportunity to share in the long-term value they help create as the company grows.

Finally, we use a single, consistent framework for setting compensation across hiring, promotions, and pay adjustments. This helps us maintain internal equity and ensure that pay decisions are grounded in both market data and individual contributions.
