Provide criminal legal advice and representation to clients at police stations and in solemn and summary court proceedings. Manage cases effectively, maintain a local client base, liaise with external organizations, and contribute to staff training. The role requires professional judgment, strong communication, organizational skills, ethical conduct, a current Scottish practising certificate, and a valid driving licence. This is a full-time, 12-month maternity cover position in Ayr.

Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll and pensions cycle, including amendments, retroactive calculations, validation, submissions, pension memberships, payments, lump sums, bereavement cases, and HMRC reporting. Resolve complex payroll queries, maintain audit records, support audits, oversee payroll-related work, liaise with employees and stakeholders, and improve payroll and pension processes while ensuring legislative and policy compliance.

Provides administrative and casework support to solicitors across the PDSO network. Responsibilities include maintaining case files, audio and copy typing, document management, reception, client enquiries, diary management, mail handling, invoice processing, Legal Aid Online monitoring, and supporting staff training. The role requires strong communication, organisation, accuracy, IT skills, confidentiality, customer service, and independent judgement.
