MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:
As a User Researcher (Senior Associate) at Kainos, you will deliver actionable insights that help define the right service experiences and focus them on user needs. You will be passionate about design research and an advocate for user needs based design, design thinking and service design.
You will be part of our growing Experience Design capability creating exemplary digital services. We are supportive, collaborative, talented, and hugely passionate about user-centred design. We are not about marketing and dark patterns; we are all about making a positive, measurable impact on millions of people through quality products and services.
MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS
• Understands the difference between requirements and user need and how they drive choice of research method
• Excellent knowledge of qualitative research methods
• Sound knowledge of quantitative research methods
• Can design and write research plans, working with recruitment agencies or client insight teams (where appropriate)
• Ensures that research and testing plans work with wider project strategy
• Ability to conduct interviews with a clear understanding of empathy
• Comfortable producing reports and presenting findings, as well as making recommendations
• Sound commercial awareness
• Works with wider project team to establish value of User Research
DESIRABLE
• Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies
• Demonstrable knowledge in user-centred design practices
• Understanding of information architecture, interaction design and visual design principles
• Experience working in a full-service digital agency environment
• Active member of relevant communities, e.g. online groups, speaking at conferences
