The problem we collectively solve for customers
Organisations invest in Workday to transform how they run their People, Finance and Planning services – yet most fail to realise the value they set out to achieve. Programmes drift from the business case, legacy operating models and fragmented processes are simply re-platformed, and people are not ready, willing or able to work differently at go-live. The result is a modern platform sitting on top of yesterday’s organisation, with value eroding in the months after deployment.
Kainos Transformation & Advisory exists to close that gap. Working alongside C-suite sponsors from vision and business case through to measured outcomes, our three specialisms act as one team: we define and protect the value case and programme governance, design the target operating model and harmonised processes Workday will enable, and ensure the organisation’s leaders and people are ready to adopt and sustain the change. Together we help customers deliver the transformation they intended – easier, smarter and faster – and have the evidence to prove it.
Main purpose of the role
Lead Kainos’ value and programme advisory, ensuring Workday transformations are anchored to a clear business case and governed to deliver measurable outcomes. Act as trusted adviser to CFOs, CHROs and transformation sponsors from Phase 0 through to benefits realisation.
Core responsibilities
- Act as trusted adviser to C-suite and executive sponsors (CFO, CHRO, CIO, COO), shaping transformation vision, ambition and investment cases and holding the room at board and steering committee level.
- Lead customer value definition and realisation on transformation projects in a billable capacity – road-mapping, business cases, benefits frameworks, KPIs and value tracking – proving delivery against Kainos’ Workday value benchmarks across a multi-year horizon.
- Provide senior programme assurance and design governance, mobilisation and delivery approaches for complex, multi-country Workday programmes, intervening decisively when value or delivery is at risk.
- Originate, shape and win advisory work: lead Phase 0 / Pathfinder engagements, proposals, RFP responses and commercial propositions, growing the T&A pipeline and account footprint.
- Actively support sales activity across EMEA and achieve agreed sales targets that drive value across net new and customer base.
- Build and lead the specialism – developing methods, IP, thought leadership and a high-performing team of consultants, and partnering with Workday and delivery leadership.
Essential criteria
- 15+ years in management consultancy or transformation, with significant time at Director or Partner level.
- Proven track record advising C-suite stakeholders on large-scale ERP Cloud enabled transformation.
- Proven track record in winning large global transformation consulting assignments
- Demonstrable expertise in business case development, benefits management and value realisation.
- Experience leading or assuring complex, multi-workstream programmes, including budget, risk and governance.
- Strong commercial acumen, with evidence of selling and shaping advisory work.
- Outstanding executive communication, facilitation and influencing skills.
Desirable criteria
- Workday (or SAP / Oracle cloud ERP) programme experience across HCM, Financials or Planning.
- Recognised programme or portfolio certification (MSP, PRINCE2, PMP) or a value management qualification.
- Big 4 / tier-1 consultancy background.
- Published thought leadership or public speaking experience.
