Exceptional by design. A career connecting technology with impact.
The opportunity
Join a team where your expertise truly matters. Pinsent Masons is looking for a Technology Business Partner to act as the principal connection between our Transactional Services Practice and Technology Services.
Working closely with the Transactional Services Innovation & Change Team and Practice Development Lawyers, you will turn practice needs into well-shaped, governed and prioritised technology demand. You will bring together business, legal and technology perspectives so that opportunities, pilots and solutions are clear on outcomes, risks, dependencies and expected benefits before work progresses.
With primary alignment to Transactional Services, you will also be part of a flexible Technology Business Partner team, sharing knowledge and providing cross-practice support where priorities require it. This is an opportunity to influence technology decisions, encourage reuse of approved solutions and help colleagues realise meaningful value from technology.
At Pinsent Masons, your career is exceptional by design - intentionally shaped to support high performance, meaningful development and long-term progression.
What you’ll do
Bring your experience to the table and play a key role in the success of our firm, building trusted relationships and delivering meaningful impact, including:
- Build trusted relationships across the Transactional Services Practice, representing its needs within Technology Services and providing clear, timely updates on priorities, decisions and delivery routes.
- Shape technology demand with business sponsors and Innovation & Change colleagues by clarifying the problem, intended outcomes, users, value, urgency, funding assumptions, risks and dependencies.
- Lead requests through technology intake, triage and governance, coordinating early input from architecture, security, data, engineering, service management, procurement and other relevant specialists.
- Champion a reuse-first approach by identifying approved products, services and patterns before new development or procurement, and connecting similar needs across practices, regions and teams.
- Coordinate product and vendor activity, including demonstrations, trials, licensing, roadmaps, service health and escalation, while ensuring the required security, privacy, procurement and contractual controls are followed.
- Support adoption, pilots and benefits realisation by defining success measures with accountable teams, gathering evidence of outcomes and identifying opportunities to improve or scale successful approaches.
What you’ll bring
To thrive in this role, you'll need to bring:
- Experience in technology business partnering, product or service management, demand management, consulting or a comparable business-facing role.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and translate business, legal and client needs into clear technology opportunities and decisions.
- Experience of working across multidisciplinary teams, such as innovation, knowledge, architecture, security, data, delivery, engineering, quality assurance, procurement and service management.
- A strong understanding of technology governance, lifecycle management, prioritisation, vendor engagement, adoption and benefits realisation.
- Commercial and analytical judgement, with the confidence to challenge unclear demand, identify reuse opportunities and explain value, risk, cost and dependency trade-offs.
- Clear written and verbal communication, strong facilitation skills and awareness of artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, legal technology and emerging delivery models.
