We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Test Lead - Hybrid, Mandaluyong City who will support the implementation of Trade, Supply Chain, and Microfinance Platform (TSCMF). The SQA Test Lead is expected to operate as a lead quality engineering resource who can work independently as well as with large cross-functional teams, own quality outcomes end-to-end, and proactively partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders. This position will be full-time and hybrid in Mandaluyong City.
What You'll Do
Own and continuously refine the overall test strategy and quality engineering approach for TSCMF (including test levels, environments, tooling, automation approach, entry/exit criteria, and release readiness), aligned with delivery priorities and risks
Lead or facilitate key quality ceremonies (test planning, defect triage, release readiness reviews) and drive timely resolution of quality risks, including root cause analysis and preventive actions with the delivery team
Review the project’s document artifacts, e.g., functional requirement documents (FRDs), high-level solution design (HLSD), solution design document (SDD), database design documents, etc. (in Azure DevOps or ADO, where applicable) for the purpose of preparing test artifacts. Escalate to the Product Delivery Manager any issues found within the said artifacts
Prepare master test plan for the project
Prepare and maintain relevant deliverables and test artifacts, e.g., master test plan, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, test data, test results, test defects, test completion reports, traceability matrices, etc. (in ADO, where applicable) in conformance with ADB’s standards and processes
Plan, design, implement, and maintain automated tests across UI and API layers (e.g., Selenium + Cucumber, Datadog Synthetic Testing), applying engineering best practices (version control, code review, modular design, reusability, and clear naming/tagging conventions)
Design and own maintainable automation frameworks (e.g., BDD/data-driven patterns as applicable), including test data strategy, reusable components, and documentation, and provide guidance/knowledge transfer to other QA resources
Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines) and/or Datadog pipeline scheduling as applicable, including implementing automated smoke/health checks after deployments, defining quality gates and pass/fail criteria, and publishing automated test results to support release readiness decisions
Continuously improve automation reliability and execution speed by diagnosing and reducing flaky tests, maintaining pipeline/test assets, and coordinating environment and test data readiness with the delivery team
Document data reconciliation approaches. Automate data validation and reconciliation (e.g., database queries, API response validation, report/data comparisons) to improve test coverage and reduce manual verification effort
Arranges test environment availability within ADB Azure DevOps; Acts as focal to product owner and business users for conduct of the product demo, including evidence/ reports on Azure Test Plans as exit criteria for the increment
Prepare and maintain test data, including setting up of users, roles, and responsibilities for testing purposes
Define and track key quality indicators such as test coverage, defect density, defect leakage, automation pass rates, and release readiness indicators, and communicate risks proactively to stakeholders
Inspect test evidence and reports provided by the vendor and coordinate issues with vendor until passing, declares pass/ fail to PDM as entry criteria for the next phase / activity
Conduct final cycle of functional test, systems integration test, and performance test to ensure that defined functional and non-functional requirements are met from ADB perspective, which serves as entry criteria to user acceptance test or product demo
Support user acceptance test
Provide clear, decision-oriented test reporting to stakeholders (progress, risks, blockers, and recommendations), including timely escalation of quality issues and explicit release readiness assessments (go/no-go recommendation with rationale). Prepare dashboards in ADO to aggregate and summarize test results
Arrange for and conduct knowledge transfer to other SQA test engineers as necessary
Participate in service transition activities to review relevant test artifacts (Master Test Document, Azure Test Plans - Test Suite, regression cases and automation scripts, migrated data, etc. as entry criteria to BAU
Prepare final test reports for sign-off by relevant IT and business stakeholders
What You'll Need
Required:
Proven ability to perform as a SQA Test Lead who can work independently as well as with a large cross-functional team, support ADB to drive quality outcomes end-to-end, and influence cross-functional teams to address quality risks
At least 10 years of work experience as a Test Lead. Experience as test manager is an advantage
Experience in financial services and banking domain is required
Must have experience as Test Lead in Agile software development
Must have proven business process and requirements analysis skills to support effective preparation of test scenarios and test cases
Experience in testing regulated financial systems
Experience supporting internal or external audits (advantage)
Must be skilled user of modern software for functional testing and automated testing such as Azure DevOps Test Plans and Pipelines, Selenium + Cucumber, PowerAutomate, Datadog Synthetic Testing, and must understand the strengths and weaknesses of each
Strong proficiency in test toolchains across test management, UI/API automation, and non-functional testing (e.g., Azure DevOps Test Plans, Postman/SOAP UI or equivalent, JMeter/Datadog Synthetics or equivalent), and ability to select fit-for-purpose tools
Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines or equivalent), implementing quality gates, and using automated smoke/health checks to validate deployments and reduce defect leakage
Experience in automating test script execution, data validation, and data comparison
Experience in testing front-end applications that use technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular
Experience in testing back-end applications that use languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java
Experience in testing system integrations using stand-alone stubs or through API connection
Experience in testing reports and dashboards
Experience in testing for data migration is an advantage
Experience in using Azure DevOps (ADO) for documentation of test artifacts and other related artifacts
Must have a good understanding of database design (relational, object-oriented, OLAP cubes), and able to write basic to intermediate queries
Preferred:
Test automation knowledge and experience is highly preferred
Preferably with a certification on automation testing
Demonstrated experience as an active contributor in Agile teams (sprint planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives), with ability to align testing approach to sprint/release goals
Ability to lead and facilitate defect triage and quality discussions, negotiate priorities with stakeholders, and ensure quality issues are tracked through to closure
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-intensive environment
Self-motivated, team player, preferably with strong organizational skills
Awareness of data privacy, security, and audit requirements
Strong written and spoken communication skills in English, with ability to present test results and quality risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and produce clear technical documentation
