JOB TITLE: Senior UX Designer (12-Month FTC)
LOCATION: Manchester
SALARY: £76,194 - £89,640
HOURS: Full-Time
DURATION: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in the Manchester office.
About this opportunity
You'll play a lead role in the integration & pragmatic application of design in a multidisciplinary team of designers, product owners and engineers. You'll champion human centred design and help change mind-sets about problem solving. Helping others succeed through coaching and by sharing knowledge, being an active member of the Design community.
We’re looking for someone to lead and work as part of a design team supporting a core product area within Experience Design They will give guidance to stakeholders, development teams and other Interaction Designers, working alongside and leading a design team. They will take full ownership of their output, providing rationale for design decisions and confidently present their work back to stakeholders.
As a Senior UX Designer, it’ll be your role to:
- Shape and implement experience strategy for the product area
- Having a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points and expectations
- Understand goals and challenges in the context of business and engineering priorities
- Work with service designers to influence and develop the roadmap and overall product strategy
- Engage with leadership to understand objectives and opportunities aligned to good customer outcomes
- Provide leadership to a team of multi-disciplinary designers to support decision-making, delivery and team culture
- Establish a growth culture and build capabilities through the formal development and mentoring of team members
What you'll need
Extensive and demonstrable experience within User Experience design/Interaction Design
A proven track record of building brilliant digital product experiences
Deep expertise within Product Design/User Experience design/Interaction Design
Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams
A cross-functional mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills; you'll be able to build strong relationships with Product & Engineering peers and wider partners
A strong strategic vision that aligns well to the overall business strategy
