EverQuote is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our growing team! We’re looking for a technical leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong interpersonal skills. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll guide teams to deliver high-quality software, enhance engineering efficiency and culture, and contribute meaningfully to the evolution of our platform and practices.

- Improving engineering culture by identifying and resolving inefficiencies in our processes.
- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including Product Managers and the Architecture team.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential criteria:
- A third-level degree in an Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional programming experience, including time spent at a software product company
- Prior experience as an engineering manager or tech lead with a track record of growing high-performing teams
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to align technical execution with business priorities
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, etc.).
- Experience in at least one of the following technical areas:
- Supporting cloud platforms at scale (AWS)
- Working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Container orchestration environments (preferably Kubernetes)
- Observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
- Experience using continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
It would be an advantage if you also possess any of the following:
- Experience with UI development, especially in React or other modern frontend frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of microservice-based architectures.
- Familiarity with secure development practices.
- Experience mentoring or managing engineers.
- Exposure to engineering systems or applications at scale.
