Role Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test), Compliance to take a lead role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our compliance driven solutions across both backend and frontend components.

At Symphony, “compliance” means operating in a way that meets strict regulatory, security, and data-governance standards — especially for our financial and other regulated-industry customers. This includes call records, robust encryption, strict access controls, comprehensive logging, data-privacy protections (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and adherence to industry certifications and audit requirements.

You will play a key role in shaping and executing the next generation of our compliance test strategy, ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of security, reliability, and regulatory requirements. With a strong technical background in testing, development, and white box testing, you will work across teams and products to ensure compliance quality is effectively integrated into every stage of development.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of quality initiatives focused on compliance across backend and frontend systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks for compliance validation.
  • Partner with developers and stakeholders to build and execute the next version of the Compliance Test Strategy.
  • Apply strong skills in white box testing and technical validation of compliance requirements.
  • Support test execution in Cloud (GCP/AWS), Kubernetes, and Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Collaborate across backend, frontend, and product teams to ensure compliance requirements are addressed effectively.
  • Mentor other SDETs and champion shift-left testing practices for compliance.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve compliance-related quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement of compliance testing processes, tools, and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Skills

  • Strong programming skills in C# and Python.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with compliance testing(data retention, regulatory, etc.), white box testing, and system validation.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (GCP/AWS) and containerized deployments with Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and modern test automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies.

Soft Skills

  • Proven ability to lead compliance-focused quality initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about compliance and quality.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing or SDET roles, with strong focus on compliance and quality.
  • At least 2+ years in a senior or lead capacity, driving compliance or quality initiatives.
