About the role 💡
As a NodeJS Backend Developer (Mid-level), you will build and maintain backend services, data models, and APIs that power Voicemod. You’ll work alongside a senior developer and closely with frontend engineers, product, and DevOps to deliver reliable features and improve performance, scalability, and observability across our platform.

Build and evolve backend services and REST APIs that integrate with frontend features and client-side agents.
Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to clarify requirements, break work into deliverable chunks, and propose pragmatic solutions.
Improve reliability and performance through profiling, monitoring, and incremental refactoring.
Apply security best practices (authentication/authorization, data handling, secrets management) and help keep our services safe.
Write maintainable code with solid test coverage; participate actively in code reviews.
Diagnose production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and ship fixes with proper safeguards.
Create reusable modules/libraries and improve developer experience through better tooling and documentation.
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Backend Developer (Node.js).
Solid experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
Experience working with databases.
Good engineering fundamentals: clean code, debugging, and maintainability.
Practical testing experience (unit/integration tests).
Comfortable with Git and CI/CD basics.
Interest in monitoring/observability and using data to improve system performance.
Experience with Docker or Terraform.
Experience tuning MongoDB query performance.
Knowledge of Mongo Atlas Search.
Experience using DDD and Clean architecture principles
Passion for audio, music, recording, or sound.
Our interview process takes place on Google Meet and tends to consist of the following stages:
1️⃣ Talent Acquisition Call – Get to know Voicemod and share your experience (45 min).
2️⃣ Hiring Manager Interview – Deep dive into your background and role expectations (60 min).
3️⃣ Technical Interview – Showcase your skills in a real-world task (Up to 120 min).

Important Information for Applicants ⚠️English Proficiency: A minimum of B2 level in English is required for this position. We will assess your communication skills during the initial interview.
On-Call Rotation: This role participates in a paid, mandatory week-long on-call rotation. Incidents are currently rare, but you must be reachable and able to respond—including having your work laptop with you.
