Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

As the Senior Insider Risk Manager, you will lead the ongoing assessment of insider risk across the organisation, working closely with key business functions to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's overall risk exposure. You will be responsible for consolidating information from multiple risk domains to assess the aggregate Group risk position, ensuring that emerging threats, behavioural risks, control weaknesses, and organisational vulnerabilities are identified, analysed, and understood in a timely manner.

Using data, analytics, and intelligence-led approaches, you will transform fragmented information into meaningful insights that support risk-based decision-making across the business. You will work in partnership with senior leaders to influence risk ownership, strengthen governance frameworks, and ensure that appropriate controls and mitigations are embedded within critical business processes and control environments. In doing so, you will provide effective oversight and constructive challenge to risk management activities, helping to ensure risks are consistently identified, assessed, managed, and monitored.

A key part of the role will involve supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of insider risk frameworks, operating models, policies, and governance arrangements. You will assess the impact of organisational, technological, regulatory, and business changes on insider risk exposure and control effectiveness, ensuring the organisation remains resilient in a changing risk landscape.

You will also be responsible for producing high-quality executive reporting and delivering insightful risk analysis that translates complex technical and operational risks into clear, business-focused outcomes. Where appropriate, you will lead investigations, thematic reviews, and root cause analyses, drive sustainable remediation actions and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Working collaboratively with both first- and second-line teams, you will play a significant role in strengthening risk culture, improving control maturity, and supporting the achievement of strategic risk management objectives across the organisation.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
