Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As our Senior Data, Analytics & AI Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating how we use data, analytics and artificial intelligence to create value across the organisation.

Working directly with senior stakeholders, you will turn important business challenges into practical, high-impact outcomes. You will explore and interpret data, uncover meaningful insights, and rapidly prototype analytical and AI-enabled solutions that strengthen decision-making and improve business performance.

You will be well placed to succeed if you have experience working in a mature, data-driven organisation and can bring practical experience of how high-performing businesses use data and analytics to make decisions.

Rather than focusing on traditional reporting or dashboard development, you will use your curiosity, commercial judgement and technical expertise to shape solutions that make a visible difference. You will have the autonomy to take an ambiguous business question and move confidently from problem → data → insight → solution → action.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will partner with senior leaders to understand their strategic, commercial and operational priorities and identify where data, analytics and AI can deliver the greatest value.
  • You will turn complex or loosely defined business questions into structured analysis, clear insights and practical recommendations.
  • You will explore enterprise data using SQL and modern analytical tools to uncover trends, test hypotheses and support faster, evidence-led decisions.
  • You will combine financial, client, operational and CRM data to build a joined-up view of performance and identify opportunities for growth, retention, profitability and productivity.
  • You will rapidly design and test analytical products, proofs of concept and AI-enabled solutions, demonstrating value before they are scaled.
  • You will apply generative AI, AI agents and automation to improve business processes, management insight and decision-making.
  • You will develop advanced analytical use cases across areas such as forecasting, revenue leakage, client churn, sales conversion, profitability, capacity and anomaly detection.
  • You will balance analytical rigour with speed, keeping solutions understandable, actionable and focused on measurable business outcomes.
  • You will work closely with Data Engineering, BI, Technology, Security and Governance teams to transition successful prototypes into scalable, controlled enterprise solutions.
  • You will strengthen trust in organisational data by identifying quality issues, clarifying assumptions and promoting consistent definitions and trusted data sources.
  • You will champion confident use of data, analytics and AI across the business while staying ahead of emerging capabilities, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience in data, analytics, business intelligence or a related discipline, ideally within a mature, data-driven organisation.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders, understand complex business challenges and translate them into practical analytical solutions and actions.
  • Strong SQL skills, with confidence interrogating large and complex datasets independently.
  • Strong working knowledge of Power BI, including data modelling and visualisation; experience with DAX would be beneficial.
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms, ideally Microsoft Fabric or the wider Microsoft data ecosystem.
  • Practical experience using generative AI, large language models, Copilot technologies or AI agents to solve real business problems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work through ambiguity and explain complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Python, notebooks, predictive modelling, forecasting or machine-learning use cases would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality and enterprise data architecture, with experience across CRM, finance, operational or client datasets.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
