Hybrid working, with some travel to our Scunthorpe office required, plus opportunities to work from our Manchester office

Co-op Wholesale is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Contract Manager to help shape what comes next. In this role, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of drafting and negotiating business customer sales contracts with our wholesale partners, managing the process through to signature and contract storage. You’ll be a trusted partner to our sales and finance teams, working closely with them to ensure our contracts accurately reflect commercially approved positions.

Why this role matters

Exciting things are happening at Co-op Wholesale. We’re growing fast, strengthening our offer for retailers, key accounts, and corporate partners, and we need great people to be part of that journey.

As a Senior Contract Manager reporting to the Head of Business Management, Governance & Risk,  you’ll work on a wide range of contracts, from independent retailers to large organisations, to really push ourselves forward and take our business to the next level.

What you’ll do

  • Spot and manage contract risks, and lead on resolving disputes or compliance issues
  • Help to improve our contract management process, shaping templates, terms, and ways of working

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

  • Significant experience as a Senior Contract Manager in a business sales environment
  • Strong experience drafting and amending customer contracts, negotiating positions and amending contract clauses, with minimal need for legal support
  • Strong experience of working with internal teams to gain commercial clarity, spotting potential risks and offering solutions
  • Confident advising the business and able to constructively challenge and influence  when needed
  • Collaborative leadership skills with a focus on efficiency, effectiveness and transparency
  • Comfortability with working with evolving processes and ways of working
  • A proactive approach to identifying and exploring continuous improvement opportunities

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
