Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Data might be your starting point, but applying expertise and judgement to explain the story behind the numbers is where this role makes its impact.

As a Senior Risk Analyst within our Portfolio Insights team, you'll help shape how Westpac understands and manages credit risk by transforming complex data into meaningful insights for senior leaders. Working across areas such as portfolio performance, Expected Credit Loss (ECL) and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), you'll uncover trends, solve complex problems and provide recommendations that support key business decisions.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys diving deep into data, asking thoughtful questions and connecting the dots to tell a compelling story. You'll be joining a close-knit and supportive team that values collaboration, curiosity and learning. While monthly deliverables create a regular rhythm, no two months are the same, with new challenges, projects and opportunities to influence outcomes across the bank.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
