The Role
The Salesforce Functional Administrator is responsible for the day‑to‑day functional management of Salesforce, ensuring the platform effectively supports business processes and user needs. This role partners closely with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Operations teams to translate requirements into scalable, user‑friendly Salesforce solutions.
This is a hands‑on role focused on configuration, optimisation, and user enablement rather than heavy development.
Key Accountabilities- Act as the primary functional owner of Salesforce, ensuring it aligns with business processes and objectives
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into Salesforce configurations and enhancements
- Configure and maintain Salesforce features including objects, fields, page layouts, flows, validation rules, reports, and dashboards
- Manage user access, profiles, permission sets, and data quality standards
- Support release management, including testing, documentation, and user communication
- Provide ongoing user support, training, and guidance to drive adoption and effective use
- Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, or developers where custom solutions or integrations are required
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
- Maintain clear documentation of processes, configurations, and best practices
- Proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator with a strong functional focus
- Solid understanding of end‑to‑end business processes, particularly within sales, service, or revenue operations
- Experience translating stakeholder needs into practical Salesforce solutions
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with non‑technical users
- A structured, detail‑oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Salesforce Administrator certification (preferred but not essential)
- Salesforce is intuitive, reliable, and well‑adopted across the organisation
- Users feel supported and confident using the platform
- Business requirements are delivered clearly, efficiently, and with minimal rework
- Data quality and reporting accuracy continuously improve
- Salesforce evolves in line with business growth and changing needs
