Nethermind
Regional Business Development & Operations Lead - Zaragoza / Navarra , Spain
About Complete Robot
We are an early-stage technology company building software and operational tools for self-service retail machines and automated commerce environments.
Our initial focus is on vending, unattended retail, and related machine-based retail infrastructure. The product combines software, automation, customer interaction, payments, and operational data to help machine operators and commercial partners create better retail experiences.
About the role:
We are looking for a senior business development and operations lead based in Spain, ideally with strong access to the vending, unattended retail, payments, convenience retail, or retail automation ecosystem.
This is a strategic commercial and operating role, not a standard sales role. The person will help open commercial conversations, identify pilot opportunities, support early deployments, and build the foundation for future regional operations.
The right candidate should be comfortable speaking with machine operators, retail partners, payment providers, distributors, location owners, and technical stakeholders. For candidates who can start immediately, there may be an opportunity to join the founding team in San Francisco for an intensive onboarding and company-building period at a prestigious accelerator. This may include staying with the team in the accelerator environment while working closely on early customer, product, and market-development work, subject to timing, availability, travel, immigration, and company approval.
This is an early, high-trust role for someone who can help build a regional business from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
Own early business development across Spain and Iberia.
Build relationships with relevant operators, technology partners, distributors, payment providers, and commercial location owners.
Identify high-value pilot opportunities in vending, unattended retail, and adjacent self-service environments.
Help secure early commercial commitments, pilot agreements, and partner conversations.
Work closely with the founder on local market development, customer feedback, and commercial priorities.
Coordinate meetings, demos, partner follow-up, and early customer conversations.
Translate market feedback into clear product and operational requirements.
Support early deployment planning, partner success, field coordination, and local operations.
Help create the foundation for a future regional sales and operations team.
Represent the company locally with a high degree of ownership and professionalism.
Requirements:
Direct experience in at least one of the following is required:
Vending machines
Unattended retail
Payments, POS, or merchant services
Convenience retail
Micro-markets
Coffee vending or office coffee service
Retail automation
Self-service kiosks
Automated retail hardware or related technology
Strong network in Spain or Iberia across relevant operators, partners, distributors, retailers, or technology providers.
Ability to sell and operate in a hardware-plus-software environment.
Ability to understand business and technical conversations around machines, payments, service, inventory, and operations.
Spanish fluency required.
Professional English required.
Willingness to travel across Spain, Portugal, and other relevant Iberian markets.
Comfortable working in an early-stage startup with limited structure and high autonomy.
Strong communication skills with founders, customers, technical teams, and senior external partners.
Preferrred experience:
Experience working with vending operators, retail automation companies, payment providers, or machine-based retail businesses.
Experience launching pilots or new technology products with industrial, retail, or commercial partners.
Experience with field operations, hardware deployment, logistics, or customer success.
Experience owning a region, territory, business unit, or major commercial account base.
Experience helping build a local team or commercial function from scratch.
Success Outcomes:
You build a clear understanding of the local market and the highest-priority commercial opportunities.
You create a strong target list of partners, customers, and pilot locations.
You secure meaningful conversations with decision-makers.
You help move at least one serious opportunity toward a pilot or commercial next step.
You provide clear feedback that improves the product, customer positioning, and local operating model.
Over time, you help establish the region as a meaningful market for the company.
