Purpose of the role

The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of our new business programme. Working closely with the Account Project Lead and the Pipeline Manager the team develops the new business prospect into a proposal, ensuring the service design and governance criteria is met. Finally ensuring a smooth and controlled transition of projects and programmes into BAU service.

  • Plan and deliver projects using waterfall or agile methodologies, as appropriate
  • Control the lifecycle of all changes, enabling beneficial changes to be made with minimum disruption to IT services
  • Manage the IT Service Risks associated with system developments
  • Manage the relationship and coordinate the delivery of new services and releases from project teams into a live environment

We are looking for someone who has a good working knowledge of Excel and Word, an aptitude for working with numbers and who can work under their own initiative. Experience of working within a similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential

About the role

  • Implement a risk-appropriate Service Transition Framework in line with ITIL best principles
  • Implement a Change Management framework in line with ITIL best principles
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the Deployment team’s tasks and activity across multiple projects, including status, release dates, issues/risks, member firm readiness & impact points, and report adoption status to various stakeholders
  • In conjunction with the PMO Team develop proposal documentation
  • Provide the PMO analyst with regular progress updates to ensure accuracy in the project forecast
  • Manage project financials ensuring visibility of projects costs against revenue
  • Work closely with the BAU Operations Manager to agree support and resources utilised from the BAU service to support project delivery. Where required manage the recruitment of project resources
  • Mentor the teams around best practices in Service Transition

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Several years’ experience with customer facing roles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding physical hardware configuration and being able to build and modify COTS equipment to details specifications.
  • Basic understanding of networking topologies and infrastructure to diagnose and plan installations based on customer provided networking.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Outsourced service delivery experience and understanding of the PM principles
  • A good understanding of IT technical solutions and IT market
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management, Presentation & Communication Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proactive attitude to improving service
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office – Specifically PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to take a methodical approach
