PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To assist in the project management associated with the procurement, installation and commissioning of company capital equipment and plant. This will include aspects of design, specification writing, planning, costing, equipment selection, construction, installation, commissioning, test and acceptance of a wide spectrum of capital projects.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Process CAAR applications from initial design to final completion, involving preliminary design and estimate of cost.
• Develop/modify AUTOCAD P&ID & layout drawings for the application of mechanical/electrical installation, equipment installation and new facilities.
• Organising, planning and controlling a specified number of capital projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to an acceptable quality and technical standard.
• Attending site meetings in relation to capital expenditure projects, to arrange programmes, record and publish minutes.
• Preparing engineering design briefs, specification and scheme designs, obtaining tenders and preparing CAAR justification.
• Liaising between contractors, operations personnel and Plant Engineers, detailing feedback and progress.
• Preparing order requests for materials.
• Lead and participate in Hazop assessments for new projects & ensure completion of all assigned activities resulting from the assessments.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that sufficient detail is provided on the application form to demonstrate how the applicant meets essential job criteria, as this alone will be used for vetting purposes.
Candidates must:
• Candidates must have attained a minimum of a HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline with 5 years' Plant Engineering or Facilities experience.
Additionally, candidates must possess and be able to demonstrate:
• Strong computer literacy skills.
• A high level of self-motivation and commitment.
• Good communication skills.
• A basic understanding of relevant statutory obligations and legal requirements.
• Experience in AUTOCAD.
Desirable:
Preferably professional experience in wastewater and deionized water plants or capital project experience within the aerospace industry.
