Project Director – Global Capital Projects
This is a site-based role in Rosia, Italy.
Are you ready to lead and manage large complex capital projects? As a Project Director at GSK, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and navigating the complexities of highly regulated environments.
This role will report to the Global Portfolio Director and manage a team of 4/5 external contractors.
In this role you will:
- Provide strategic oversight for complex capital projects and portfolios.
- Ensure alignment of project outcomes with business and organizational strategies.
- Lead governance, compliance, and risk frameworks across projects.
- Exemplify and uphold GSK’s values and behaviors.
- Define and manage strategies for high-impact, high-value projects.
- Influence and align senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure the delivery of fully compliant, validated systems and facilities.
Capabilities
- Project Management: Adherence to GSK’s Project Management Framework and PMI standards.
- Programme Management: Strategic programme integration, portfolio governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and performance tracking.
- Business Relationships: Trusted advisor to executive stakeholders and sponsors.
- Decision Making: Lead high-stakes decision-making with organizational impact.
- Strategic Thinking & Delivery: Develop and drive strategies for capital project delivery.
- Communication: Influence and align communication strategies at the executive level.
- Teamwork: Build and sustain high-performing teams across the project management organization.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Considerable experience managing complex capital projects in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Extensive knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and validation processes.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- MSc or additional qualification in Engineering/Construction Management or a related field
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
