Role description:

We are looking for a Principal Consultant to join our growing Capital Programmes Advisory team. In a world of increasing infrastructure investment, programme complexity, and delivery challenges, we help clients successfully plan, mobilise, optimise, and deliver major capital programmes.

You will play a leading role in shaping client strategies, delivering complex programmes, building trusted client relationships, and supporting the growth of our Capital Programmes capability. You will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Capital Portfolio & Programme Strategy
  • Capital Programme Mobilisation & Optimisation
  • Programme Operating Model Design
  • Programme Delivery Models
  • Supply Chain Strategy
  • Procurement Design & Delivery
  • Sustainable & Resilient Supply Chains
  • Digital Programme and Procurement Delivery
  • Business Cases and Benefits Realisation

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead the delivery of complex capital programme and transformation engagements.
  • Develop programme strategies, operating models, business cases, and delivery frameworks.
  • Conduct organisational and programme assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Design and implement solutions that improve programme performance, governance, and delivery outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Lead workshops, presentations, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Drive benefits realisation and support clients in achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Lead project teams and contribute to the development and mentoring of colleagues.
  • Support business development activities, including propositions, pursuits, bids, and sales opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of Capital Programmes methodologies, tools, and thought leadership.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7-10 years' experience delivering capital programmes, programme management, transformation, or business advisory services.
  • Experience leading complex projects, programmes, or workstreams from strategy through to implementation.
  • Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and client relationship skills.
  • Experience working with senior client stakeholders and influencing decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience developing business cases, programme strategies, operating models, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Experience supporting business development, proposals, bids, and sales activities.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional accreditation or chartership is desirable.
