The role requires extensive public-sector procurement experience in highly regulated environments, strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, and ideally experience in electrical transmission, distribution, or wind-energy sectors.

Responsibilities include ecological surveys, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, biodiversity strategies, licence applications, mitigation and monitoring, ecological reporting, and liaison with statutory authorities. The role requires applying environmental legislation, identifying species and habitats, conducting Phase 1 habitat surveys, following biosecurity and health and safety protocols, and participating in professional training.

Carry out BS 5837 arboricultural surveys, prepare Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements, inspect trees (including occasional climbed surveys), provide arboricultural advice to clients, and deliver reports suitable for planning applications while considering health and safety and ecological constraints.
