Vertiv™ Energy Power Management System (EPMS) provides infrastructure to deliver software and digital services that increases visibility into – and control over – facility power operations. Teams gain the insights they need to make continuous improvements to power operations, while the EPMS automatically detects when the grid or batteries are no longer supplying power and switches over to alternative power sources, such as a generator and uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs). 

The Power Software & Controls - Project Manager manages up to 15 projects at any one time whilst overseeing 5-6 engineers ensuring projects are delivered.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Power Software & Controls – Project Manager is a vital member of the project’s delivery team, responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects within strict deadlines and budgets, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, a clear understanding of the software development lifecycle and being able to align with organizational goals.

The successful candidate will be tasked with defining project scope, goals, and deliverables, creating and maintaining detailed project plans, and ensuring that all stakeholders remain informed and aligned throughout the project. The Project Manager will also be responsible for mitigating risks, resolving issues, and ensuring that quality standards are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of projects from inception to on-site commissioning and client hand over.
  • Define the scope of projects in collaboration with senior management.
  • Creation of a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete projects.
  • Monitor progress of projects whilst making any adjustments necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects on multiple projects.
  • People Manage 5 - 6 Engineers 
  • Allocate resources and assign responsibilities for the development of detailed software code for automation, control and energy management data acquisition applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to lead a team
  • Ensure that projects are completed to strict budgets and that project tracking documentation and variations are kept up to date for ongoing reviews.
  • Providing regular reports on progress to senior managers and the division manager.
  • Ensure project documentation is completed against strict timeframes to conform to client standards
  • Negotiating with contractors and suppliers for materials and services
  • Ensure client satisfaction on project completion 
  • Evaluation of each project's performance and develop lessons learned for use on future projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in project management within a software development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools 
  • Other relevant project management certifications are a plus.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • International site travel is an essential requirement for this position
