Senior Business Consultant – Business Banking
Full time, 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Senior Business Consultant - Relationship Support role provides specialist support to Business customers with a focus on proactively contacting customers regarding their maturing loans and deposits. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Service, you will assist customers with fixed rate rollovers and term deposit maturities.
Responsibilities include negotiating pricing and seeking to retain customers, with guidance and support from the wider business team where required. If facilities need to be restructured, you will need basic lending knowledge to ensure the right information is collected for referral to a business lender. The timely actioning of Mortgage Discharge Requests (MDRs) is also a component of this role.
This role should be viewed as the steppingstone to other lending roles within the Business team such as Business Manager or Analyst.
Na tōu rourou | What will you bring?
Must be confident making outbound contact with customers therefore 2 years + previous experience working with business customers is preferred
Ability to have a needs based, strategic conversation with a customer vs. purely transactional, combined with knowledge of the financial services industry and previous experience delighting customers in a service environment
Able to confidently negotiate with customers on pricing and a strong understanding of the NZ economic environment and the dynamics of interest rate markets would be an advantage
Proven ability to build relationships with customers and internal business partners
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Advanced knowledge of Westpac’s Business products and services, previous experience with NZLO would be an advantage
Knowledge of Westpac’s pricing frameworks for loans and deposits, proficiency with Nomis
