Dojo from the get-go

First launch was back in 2009. So with over 15 years in the payments industry, we’ve got a story to tell.

Dojo is built to soothe customer and consumer pain points across the world for over 140,000 customers.

And today, there’s over 1000 of us in multiple locations across the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Italy.

Our mission is to empower businesses to thrive in the experience economy by creating the tools and tech that turn transactions into meaningful relationships.

We do that through sophisticated EPOS payments integrations, fast transactions, hospitality bookings, and a strong consumer restaurant app.

The role

As a People Operations Coordinator, you will support our 1,000+ workforce in the UK, Ireland, Spain and Italy by ensuring our people processes, systems and employee helpdesk run smoothly.

Your role will focus on providing administrative support and managing ‘Business As Usual’ people processes. As the people operations team is undergoing a period of transformation, there may also be opportunities for you to assist in project work on an ad hoc basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone organized, proactive and people-focused to gain a solid initial grounding in people operations and make an impact in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You’ll be someone who loves routine and regular timetables, and enjoys digging into the details to help solve problems.

What you will do…

Operational Support:

  • You’ll manage day-to-day people processes including onboarding, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle changes such as promotions, secondments and role changes.
  • You’ll ensure our HR systems and records are accurate and up-to-date, including inputting and maintaining employee data in Workday, Culture Amp, Google Sheets and more.
  • You’ll assist with data audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Employee Support:

  • You’ll act as a first point of contact for employee queries, providing timely and accurate support via our employee helpdesk (Jira) or directing them to the appropriate person. You’ll provide support on ways of working, annual leave, employment references, and a number of other topics.
  • You’ll assist in communicating people policies and processes to employees, ensuring clarity and consistency.

Team Collaboration:

  • You’ll work closely with other teams in the People function, including Payroll, Benefits and People Partners, to provide high quality, seamless support for employees.

What you will bring….

  • HR Systems & Processes: You’ll have some experience working with office systems and processes, and you’ll be keen to increase your knowledge ‘on the job’. If you have any specific HR systems and processes experience, this would be a plus - but this is an entry level role so this is not mandatory!
  • Organisational Skills: You’ll be highly organised with a demonstrable ability to juggle multiple tasks at once and prioritise to meet deadlines.
  • Data-Savvy: You’ll ideally have worked with data before and will have a good eye for detail, being able to spot mistakes and patterns.
  • Proactive and Motivated: You’ll be self-motivated with a proactive attitude, taking the initiative and problem solving when required.
  • Communication: You’ll be an effective communicator (both written and verbal)  with the confidence to interact with a range of stakeholders.
  • Team-Oriented: You’ll enjoy working as part of a team, collaborating across different departments and helping out as needed.

Please note:

  • Although most roles at Dojo require four days in the office, this role only requires three days per week on-site.

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

If the following speak to you, let’s talk:

  • You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
  • You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
  • You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion at Dojo

From local bakeries to well-known eateries, Dojo payments serve over 140,000 places across the UK.

And something that’s fundamental to creating relevant, innovative products at Dojo is to build teams to reflect the diversity of the businesses we serve.

Our drive to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion is closely linked to helping employees thrive and innovating for better customer experiences.

If you care about your work, you’re curious, and you think customer-first, you have a place at Dojo.

To make sure you’re the best you can be throughout the recruitment process, let us know if you need any extra adjustments to help you thrive.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
