Why this role matters

As Stora continues to grow, we're looking for an organised, proactive Operations Executive to help keep our business running smoothly.

Working closely with our COO, you'll support a broad range of day-to-day business operations, helping to keep our internal processes, systems and activities organised, efficient and running effectively.

You'll also play an important role in supporting our People/HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee administration and maintaining accurate records and documentation.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting things done, solving practical problems and making things easier for others. You won't be expected to manage a team or independently lead a function. Instead, we're looking for someone who is dependable, comfortable taking initiative and keen to develop their experience across business operations and people support.

It's an opportunity to grow and develop towards an Operations Manager role as you gain broad experience, work closely with senior leadership and make a meaningful contribution to how we operate as we scale.

What you'll doBusiness operations & coordination
  • Support the COO with day-to-day business operations, helping to keep activities, priorities and internal processes running smoothly.

  • Coordinate office and workplace requirements, ensuring our team has the resources, information and support they need to work effectively.

  • Help organise company meetings, travel, internal events and team offsites, working alongside our Events Coordinator where appropriate.

  • Assist with coordinating suppliers, service providers and other external partners, helping ensure operational requirements are met.

  • Maintain and update internal documentation, records, systems and administrative processes.

  • Support cross-functional projects and business initiatives, helping coordinate activities, track progress and follow up on actions.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve internal processes, systems and ways of working.

  • Help implement new tools, processes and workflows that make day-to-day operations more efficient.

  • Act as a point of contact for general operational queries, helping colleagues find information and resolve practical issues.

People & HR support
  • Support recruitment activities, including preparing and posting job adverts, reviewing applications against agreed criteria, coordinating interviews and assisting with offers.

  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring the necessary documentation, equipment, access and processes are in place.

  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, HR systems and people-related documentation.

  • Help administer employee benefits and respond to routine HR queries, escalating more complex matters to the COO or external advisors.

  • Assist with updating and communicating HR policies, procedures and internal guidance.

  • Coordinate performance review cycles, feedback activities and other employee-related processes.

  • Support the administration of employment and HR requirements across the UK, Ireland and other countries in which we operate, working with the COO and external specialists where necessary.

  • Help organise activities and initiatives that contribute to a positive, consistent employee experience.

  • Identify gaps or opportunities to improve our people-related processes and help put practical solutions in place.

What you'll bring
  • Organised and reliable: You're good at managing multiple tasks, keeping track of details and following things through.

  • A hands-on approach: You're happy to roll up your sleeves and get involved in a variety of tasks, from organising meetings and updating systems to coordinating recruitment and onboarding.

  • A practical problem-solver: You enjoy finding solutions, improving processes and making everyday activities run more smoothly.

  • Comfortable with technology: You're confident using digital tools and systems, can pick up new software quickly and enjoy finding ways to work more efficiently.

  • Strong communication skills: You're approachable, professional and comfortable working with colleagues, senior leaders and external partners.

  • Proactive and adaptable: You can take initiative, manage changing priorities and recognise when something needs attention.

  • Good attention to detail: You take pride in producing accurate work, maintaining organised records and ensuring important tasks don't get overlooked.

  • Discreet and trustworthy: You understand the importance of confidentiality and handling sensitive business and employee information appropriately.

  • A willingness to learn: You're interested in developing your knowledge and experience across business operations and People/HR activities.

You'll ideally have some experience in an operations, administrative, coordination or similar role. Previous HR experience is helpful but isn't essential. We're more interested in finding someone with the right organisational skills, initiative and approach to getting things done.

Preferred experience
  • Experience in a business operations, office coordination, administrative or similar role.

  • Experience working in a startup, scale-up, SaaS or technology business.

  • Some exposure to recruitment coordination, employee onboarding, HR administration or people-related processes.

  • Experience coordinating projects, meetings, events or operational activities.

  • Experience using and maintaining business systems, records or digital tools.

  • Experience supporting teams across multiple locations or working in a distributed business.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
