Job Description

As a People Business Partner, you will provide both strategic and operational HR support across the organisation, acting as a trusted advisor in our key growth areas. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering people strategies that align with business goals, working collaboratively with colleagues in Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and HR Operations.  

In this role, you'll build strong, influential relationships with leaders and stakeholders—offering strategic insight across the full talent lifecycle to help develop culture, capability, and capacity for growth. You’ll be agile, action-oriented, and committed to driving continuous improvement in people processes and systems. This role is ideal for a People professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating meaningful, positive outcomes for people and the business.  

What you'll be responsible for:  

Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with and coach business leaders and People Business Partners to build organisational capability and implement people strategies that align with business goals and drive cultural transformation.  

Trusted Advisor: Act as a strategic People partner to designated business areas, building strong, influential relationships across multiple stakeholder groups and adapting communication style to engage effectively at all levels.  

Employment Law Expertise: Have a strong knowledge and understanding of current UK employment law, providing clear guidance on employee relations matters to ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.  

People Strategy Implementation: Support the delivery of people strategies, processes, and initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organisational effectiveness.   

Change Enablement: Support and embed organisational change initiatives, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in navigating ambiguity and complexity.  

Leadership Development: Coach and support business leaders in developing their teams, enhancing leadership capability and succession readiness.  

Employee Relations/ Support: Act as the first point of contact for managers on general people queries, providing sound HR advice and escalating complex issues appropriately. Provide expert advice and training to managers on all aspects of employee relations—including absence, performance, disciplinary, and grievance matters—escalating complex cases as needed.  

Data-Driven Insight: Leverage people data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, enabling proactive and informed decision-making.  

Reward Cycle Leadership: Together with your leadership team. lead the annual reward cycle—including salary and bonus reviews—ensuring fair, transparent, and business-aligned outcomes.  

Project Ownership: Take ownership of assigned People projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery aligned with strategic priorities.  

Policy & Compliance: Partner with the People Operations Team to ensure all people policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated in line with legislative changes and best practice.  

 

Qualifications

Experience and Required Skills  

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence effectively, actively listen to drive understanding and alignment to then be able to lead and facilitate conversations with business area.  
  • Experience of work in a fast paced, agile organisation, preferably within the tech sector with exposure to Managed Services or the Public sector being an advantage.  
  • Strong problem resolution and decision-making skills, and ability to resolve escalated issues displaying sound judgment and demonstrate accountability.  
  • Experience in managing ER case work.  
  • Curious and open to new learning.  
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.  
  • High level of confidentiality.  
  • The ability to work as part of a team.  
  • Ways of Working 
  • Knowledge/experience ROI employment law would be nice to have.
