About the role
You will be part of our Paraplanning Team and work collaboratively within the wider POD structure, made up of a small number of Advisers, Paraplanners and Financial Services Admin support.
As a Paraplanner you will already have a broad understanding of the core Financial Planning solutions and you will have the opportunity to build your knowledge through exposure to complex client circumstances. You will produce robust financial plans and analytical information.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist our Wealth Managers in recommending suitable investment and retirement planning solutions to meet a client’s needs within their agreed risk tolerance
- Research and prepare advice on protection products to meet specific client needs
- Produce clear, accurate and detailed reports for clients that meet both internal quality standards and external regulatory standards
- Act as First Line of Defence, raising issues that may impact the client/company
- Be responsible for managing and planning workflow
- Interpret data and agree actions following Wealth Manager/client meetings
- Work closely with administrators/colleagues, in a team environment, to ensure timely and accurate implementation of agreed actions arising from client meetings
- Develop relationships with product providers to facilitate the smooth processing of new business
- Provide technical support to other members of the team with a view to mentoring and developing junior talent
- Prepare timely and accurate information and documentation to ensure client reviews and valuations are delivered within agreed time frames
- Have a ‘client first’ approach to all that you do as our clients’ success is our success
- Maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders and communicate in a friendly, confident and professional manner
Requirements
- Must be working towards Chartered status, ideally already Level 6 qualified
- A minimum of 4 years Paraplanning experience
- Confident pro-active self-starter with a can-do attitude, who can work on their own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of protection, pensions, investments and estate planning
- Proficient data analytical and advanced Excel, Word capability and PowerPoint
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Should be a strong team player that understands success is achieved together
