Mō te tūranga | About the Role

As the Manager Performance Analytics, you will lead the delivery of high-quality reporting, analysis, and insights that drive Westpac NZ’s commercial objectives. In this role, you will evaluate strategies using a deep understanding of customer needs, behaviours, and value to ensure alignment with both customer outcomes and organisational goals. You will establish and monitor performance indicators that inform senior leaders and support strategic decision-making, while maintaining strong relationships with key business partners across the organisation.

Your expertise in the New Zealand banking industry will enable you to provide planning and best practice data management within the portfolio performance team. You will be a mentor to the analysts and foster a culture of analytical excellence and continuous improvement. You will manage analytics projects from scoping through to delivery, ensuring they align with business priorities. Additionally, you will maintain and deliver recurring performance reports as part of BAU activities, ensuring data integrity and relevance for stakeholders.

  • Proven experience in performance analytics, financial analysis, or business intelligence within banking or financial services.

  • Advanced excels skills, proven experience in SQL, SAS, Power BI (data manipulation and analysis).

  • Advanced data management and visualisations skills.

  • Ability to positively engage and influence stakeholders.

  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills to convey insights clearly to senior leadership.

  • Demonstratable commercial acumen, and risk maturity.

  • Proven experience in performance analytics, financial analysis, or business intelligence within banking or financial services.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
