About the Role
As an Accounting Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage the monthly close process across the international subsidiaries ensuring compliance with US GAAP as well as Sarbanes-Oxley. Specifically, your focus will be to:
- Review and ensure completion of international general ledger activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Drive international statutory filing and audit processes, including translating GAAP activity to local accounting standards and currencies.
- Identify complex accounting items and facilitate alignment with the technical accounting team to determine appropriate treatment in accordance with US GAAP.
- Maintain internal controls related to financial close, ensuring narratives and flowcharts remain current with company practices.
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability of the corporate close process.
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, and providing ongoing training.
- Interpret technical accounting rules and apply them in practice across global operations.
The skills and qualities you'll bring include:
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience, with public company experience considered an asset.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls to drive high-quality outcomes.
- Analytical skills and critical thinking used to resolve complex financial challenges.
- High energy and a sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Process management mindset focused on driving change and continuous improvement.
- Experience designing or managing sophisticated best practice financial systems like NetSuite, Concur, or Coupa.
- Ability to hold self and others responsible for driving outcomes and meeting commitments that deliver value.
- Capacity to break larger goals into smaller components, executing quickly and pivoting where necessary to achieve outcomes.
- Global network building skills to work across boundaries and deliver sustainable improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a CPA preferred.
