Lead design and release of high-density liquid cooling (CDU) products. Manage cross-functional global teams, approve drawings and BOMs, drive cost reduction, ensure quality and compliance (ISO/ASME/GD&T/UL/ASHRAE), support procurement/vendor evaluation, mentor engineers, troubleshoot failures, and manage projects from concept through delivery.
POSITION SUMMARY
- This posting is for an experienced Lead Engineer that will lead the design and release new products within High Density Liquid Cooling. This Lead Engineer will work in a cross-functional development group at a global level, managing a variety of tasks and lead team activities required in this dynamic environment that includes solving complex problems along the way.
- A professional individual in product development and engineering who executes advanced tasks, processes, techniques and procedures. This position occupies a hybrid role that bridges high-level technical expertise with team management and project oversight.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead by example and direct other engineers in the conduct of product development from an engineering capacity for CDU development
- Check and approve drawings and bill of materials
- Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities in the design and development and identifying alternative component selection.
- Technical Leadership: Guide the team’s (matrix organisation) technical direction, make or influence architectural decisions, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
- Project Oversight: Manage timelines and deliverables from concept through to delivery. Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders and cross-functional teams (e.g., electrical, software, and manufacturing) at a global level.
- Quality & Compliance: Develop and enforce engineering standards and quality procedures (e.g., ISO, ASME, or GD&T). Good understanding of root cause analysis of failures and implementing corrective actions.
- Procurement & Vendor Support: Support early sourcing activities by evaluating vendor proposals and ensuring third-party components meet technical specifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a leading role in product development.
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
- Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members as well as take direction and guidance from managers and directors.
- Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
- Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
- Knowledge UL Standards, ASHRAE for HVAC systems, preferably Data Centres.
- Experience in a regulated industry
- A good understanding of R&D development and workflow
- Able to systematically solve issues by troubleshooting through experience
- Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred 2-4 years of experience in an HVAC related industry.
- Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
- Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- B Eng Degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- A chartered engineer of a recognised institution or working towards becoming chartered.
