About the role

At Four Seasons Hotel Firenze the Learning & Development Manager delivers workplace learning, performance improvement programs and engagement initiatives to best achieve long-term business success. This position adds value in meeting the hotel’s needs by identifying and implementing learning and performance improvement strategies that support the hotel’s strategic direction.

What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate training sessions identifying staff development needs at an individual & group level.
  • Ensure department training goals are set and achieved and act as an objective third party in counseling, problem solving or conflict situations where learning issues are involved.
  • Evaluate and communicate the effect of training programs and initiatives through measuring results and monitoring behavioral change.
  • Regularly coach and develop Designated Trainers and Managers in their role and responsibilities and analyze service gaps to improve service levels
  • Work alongside the Senior Director of People and Culture and senior management to determine performance gaps and learning needs.
  • Regularly benchmark the learning function with Corporate Learning Success Levels and market the learning function’s programs, initiatives and Four Seasons Learning.
  • Create and adhere to an annual budget for all training programs, initiatives, and learning resources.
  • Maintain training attendance records and employee records (both electronically and hard copy files) adhering to corporate guidelines and local laws.
  • Assist with other areas of People & Culture when needed, actively contributing to the deployment of P&C strategy and engagement plan.

What you bring

Education:

Relevant academic education or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Must have minimum 3 years’ experience working in a managerial capacity. Knowledgeable about hotel operations or other luxury service environments and experience in adult education.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess excellent communication skills, as well as personal presentation and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams. A dynamic and inspirational personality is expected for this role.
  • Strong work ethic, confidentiality and well developed organizational and planning skills are requirements.
  • This position requires regular coaching skills and the ability to build and maintain confidence and credibility with employees, supervisory and managerial staff. Influencing and leadership skills are a must.
  • Advanced computer skills and basic budgeting, accounting and financial management. Current on industry trends affecting workplace learning
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the Italian and English language

Travel required: in cases of training, conferences or special events.
