Please be advised that this position requires attendance at Asda House in Leeds for a minimum of three days per week. We’re really looking forward to having you around!

This role acts as a trusted analytical partner, combining business understanding, structured problem solving, and technical fluency to deliver insights that shape strategy, drive measurable improvement, and quantify value.

You will work across commercial and technical teams to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions, collaborating closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, and Platform colleagues to ensure insights are robust, scalable, and built on strong data foundations.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to identify where analytics can deliver the most value, define success metrics, and track measurable business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Platform teams to define analytical requirements, shape data pipelines and models, and ensure governed, high-quality data availability.
  • Work closely with Data Science teams to explore advanced analytical opportunities, supporting model development, interpretation, and embedding predictive insights into business processes.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable stories that connect insight to commercial or operational impact.
  • Design scalable analytical frameworks and dashboards that simplify complexity and support evidence-based decision making.
  • Quantify the value of analytics initiatives, demonstrating tangible outcomes such as sales uplift, cost optimisation, customer experience improvement, or operational efficiency.
  • Apply structured, hypothesis-led problem solving to identify key drivers, prioritise opportunities, and validate impact.
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring analytical solutions align to both strategic priorities and technical standards.
  • Champion data-led decision making, driving a culture of curiosity, accountability, and measurable impact.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify ambiguity and deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Technical fluency in tools and platforms such as SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, and Databricks. Experience in these would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across technical and business functions, ensuring solutions are both technically sound and strategically relevant.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, able to bring data to life and influence senior stakeholders through compelling narratives.
  • Demonstrated ability to quantify and communicate value, linking analytics outputs directly to commercial or operational outcomes.
  • Strong business acumen and curiosity, with an understanding of how analytics drives performance and growth.
  • A collaborative mindset and continuous learning approach, with an interest in emerging data technologies and analytical techniques.

What You’ll Love

  • Working at the intersection of business, data, and technology to solve complex challenges and deliver tangible impact.
  • Partnering with expert teams across the data ecosystem to shape and scale analytical capability.
  • A culture that values pace, curiosity, and collaboration, where insight leads to action and results are measured.
  • The opportunity to make a visible difference by helping the organisation make smarter, evidence-based decisions.

Benefits

To ensure a balance between collaboration and flexibility, this role follows a hybrid working model, typically three days a week in the office, with additional on-site visits as required for business needs.

You will also receive an excellent benefits package, including:

  • Discretionary company bonus based on performance
  • Company car allowance of £5,700 per annum
  • Pension scheme with up to 7% company-matched contributions
  • 15% colleague discount in store and online
  • Access to wellbeing support including 24/7 virtual GP, counselling, and health and dental cash plans
  • Flexible working culture built on collaboration and trust
  • Asda Allies Inclusion Networks supporting diversity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Comprehensive parental leave policies including maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental, and fertility treatment support
  • Discounts across a wide range of services and experiences, from gyms and holidays to theme parks and cinemas

Ideal Background

  • Experience in analytics, insight, or strategy within a data-rich or large-scale organisation.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms, data science, or engineering practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across both technical and commercial domains.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative, analytical, or business discipline.

Summary

As an Insight & Analytics Manager, you will act as the bridge between business, data, and technology, ensuring insights are credible, actionable, and measurable. You will bring clarity to complexity, quantify the value of your work, and enable smarter, faster decisions across the organisation.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
