About our Team

This role sits in our Market Planning team, which helps the business understand what matters next, to decide where to focus, and to align to act on it. The team sits between strategy and execution, bringing together customer insight, market intelligence, regulatory understanding and commercial priorities to increase value creation for our customers whilst driving profitable growth.

About the Role

Our customers’ consumer data is constantly deteriorating. Without regular maintenance, data quickly becomes outdated and the value it provides to their businesses is compromised.

We are looking for a strategy leader to shape the future of our Customer Data Management business across the UK and Ireland. This highly collaborative role brings together market strategy, customer needs, data, technology and commercial execution to identify opportunities, evolve propositions and turn them into clear business priorities

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the UK and Ireland strategy for Customer Data Management, including priority markets, customer needs, growth opportunities and competitive positioning.
  • Use customer, market, regulatory and competitor insight to inform strategic choices and investment priorities.
  • Shape compelling customer propositions and ensure they are supported by clear positioning, packaging and commercial models.
  • Translate customer and market needs into strategic requirements for product, data, technology and operational teams.
  • Develop business cases for new and enhanced capabilities, balancing immediate commercial opportunities with longer-term growth.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve customer outcomes and support the continued development of scalable data solutions and services.
  • Establish meaningful measures of customer value and proposition effectiveness.
  • Support Sales, Pre-Sales and Marketing through clear value propositions, market insight, customer evidence and sector-specific narratives.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in the management of consumer data is essential, ideally with some experience of data quality, master data management, identity resolution, data governance or a closely related data-driven market.
  • Strong strategic and commercial judgement, with experience of market strategy, proposition development or product strategy.
  • Experience working with customers, in either a commercial context or to better understand their problems.
  • A successful track record of leading cross-functional change in a matrixed organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the confidence to work with senior leaders and customers.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to combine quantitative evidence with customer and market insight.
  • The ability to explain complex data concepts in clear, commercially relevant language.
  • Curiosity about emerging customer needs, technology, regulation and competitive developments.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
