Which team will you be joining?

Primer for Partners: Our Partners team is reimagining how we enable third party payment service providers to unlock the power of Primer’s unified payment infrastructure, providing a scalable and flexible platform for growth.

🔍 What will the role involve?
  • Own product strategy, delivery and outcomes for 'Primer for Partners'

  • Set direction for the area by translating Primer’s company strategy into clear partner-focused priorities, aligning teams on outcomes, trade-offs, and approach

  • Lead the reimagining of how partners unlock value from Primer, building a scalable, flexible platform that supports diverse partner models and long-term growth

  • Resolve ambiguity by framing complex platform and ecosystem problems, synthesising input from PMs and partners, and making clear calls on direction

  • Lead planning and execution across the area, ensuring strong sequencing, dependency management, and predictable, high-quality launches

  • Balance short-term partner needs with long-term platform health, making deliberate scope, quality, and technical trade-offs

  • Establish strong insight loops across partners, merchants, and internal teams so decisions are grounded in real usage, feedback, and market context

  • Build and develop a high-performing group of PMs through coaching, feedback, and clear expectations

👀 What are we looking for?
  • Experience owning strategy and outcomes for a complex platform or ecosystem product area, ideally involving partners, integrations, or third-party developers

  • Strong product judgement, with a track record of navigating ambiguity and making durable decisions in multi-stakeholder environments

  • Proven ability to lead execution across multiple teams, improving delivery predictability while maintaining long-term platform quality

  • Deep product craft, with strong instincts for discovery, prioritisation, and outcome-oriented decision-making

  • Comfort operating in payments or similarly regulated, technical domains, with the ability to reason about downstream regulatory, scheme, or operational implications

  • Excellent stakeholder leadership skills, able to influence senior leaders and external partners through clear narratives and evidence

  • Experience partnering closely with engineering leadership on platform architecture, APIs, and technical trade-offs

  • A people-first leader who invests in developing PMs and building psychologically safe, high-performing teams

🚫 You may not like it here if:
  • You enjoy working in an office-setting, we are remote-first and always will be!

  • You are not comfortable with shifting context and navigating ambiguity

What’s life like at Primer?

We’ve been recognised as a top global employer, #1 in FinTech for ‘flexibility’!

We’re building a culture where people can come and do their best work and enjoy it. We want our people to be proud of the impact that they have at Primer, and of the work that they are doing. You will be working with a team of people who are mission-driven, smart, and reflective, and who are invested in building exceptional products and delivering success for our merchants (and we also know how to have fun along the way).

We work remotely. We believe that building a successful, profitable company goes beyond proximity. We invest in our relationships with each other through great remote working practices and thoughtfully designed face-to-face time together. Our heads-together time comes in the form of workstations, our annual company retreat, and co-working space access worldwide.

Finally, let’s go ahead and say it. The work that we do is challenging. Startups are a challenge, building category defining products is a challenge. You should be prepared for a challenge at Primer. But, there’s a big difference between a challenge and a struggle. The key difference is that the right challenge comes with the right support structures, an acceptance that not everything always goes to plan, a collaborative environment, and a great team around you. It’s never a challenge that you will face alone.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
