Are you interested in leading a team in Fraud? Our EU Fraud Customer Operations team is at the heart of how we protect Monzo EU and our customers.

We’re looking for individuals with a blend of experience in Fraud, Leadership, and setting up a brand-new Spanish-speaking team to join our EU Fraud Operations. While Spanish is the core focus for this role, the ability to speak other languages is a massive advantage as we continue to grow.

Your team will consist of around 10 - 12 Fraud Investigators, and could be focused on a number of different tasks - including Prevention, Unauthorised and Authorised Fraud and Bank communications.

As a Team Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the personal and professional development of your team members, providing coaching & feedback on fraud tasks, driving exceptional individual and collective performance, guiding individuals through hard times, and celebrating their successes.

You’ll hold weekly meetings with your team members (both individually and together as a team) to ensure everyone is informed, engaged, and performing in their role. You’ll also be responsible for aggregating the feedback that your team provides in these meetings and feeding it into operational leadership to ensure we continue to improve on our processes and tooling.

Team Managers are also heavily involved in our hiring processes, and regularly act as interviewers - so you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the team as it continues to grow.

🔑 You’ll play a key role by...

  • Conduct quality checks on senior fraud investigators to drive performance and identify coaching opportunities.
  • Handle feedback from L20 Investigators and working alongside EU Senior manager & EU Operations analysts to improve process/guidance
  • Manage personal & professional development of a team of senior investigators.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and high performance culture in the team with high levels of engagement.
  • Chairing employee relations cases and making decisions consistent with Monzo’s values.
  • Working with Senior Manager on building EU team from scratch and how we scale the team for future growth

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You are Fluent in English & Spanish, both in written and verbal communication skills
  • You have strong experience of team leadership across Fraud within the financial services sector.
  • You have proven ability to drive excellent performance through others.
  • You have strong knowledge and experience in the financial sector, previous experience in carrying out Fraud investigations
  • You have knowledge of the current financial crime landscape in the UK and the EU, and associated fraud risks.

The working hours to be covered by the team will be 8am - 6.30pm and this will be based on 8.5 hours per day (with a 1 hour lunch included). The successful candidate will be required to be flexible in order to meet our customer demand and this will include infrequent weekend working. The start date for the role will be 12th October and you must be able to commit to the first 6 weeks. No holidays/time off will be authorised during this period.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
