Actonomy is an AI product business within Kainos Group plc, focused on solving the last mile to production AI.

Within Actonomy, Forward Deployed Engineers work directly with customers to deploy Actonomy Core and help organisations develop impactful AI solutions

You will work alongside customers to understand business problems, configure and implement Actonomy Core, support integrations, and help users realise value from AI in their day-to-day work.

This is a highly hands-on role that combines engineering, consulting and product thinking. You will spend time with customers, work closely with our product and engineering teams, and help shape how Actonomy Core evolves through real-world deployments.

As one of our early Forward Deployed Engineers, you will have a significant opportunity to influence our ways of working, implementation approaches and product direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and configure Actonomy Core within customer environments.

  • Work directly with customers to understand business processes and desired outcomes.

  • Support integration of Actonomy Core with customer systems and data sources.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues during implementation and rollout.

  • Gather user feedback and translate customer needs into product improvements.

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Customer Success teams to improve deployments.

  • Create reusable deployment patterns and implementation assets.

  • Support customer adoption and value realisation activities.

  • Stay up to date with developments in AI, Microsoft technologies and the Actonomy platform.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience building software, automations or digital solutions.

  • Experience with Python

  • An interest in AI and emerging technologies.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Comfortable working directly with customers and users.

  • Able to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to solve business problems.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • A proactive and self-starting approach.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with C#, JavaScript or similar technologies.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365.

  • Experience implementing SaaS or cloud-based products.

  • Familiarity with AI, LLMs, agents or Copilot technologies.

  • Experience working in consulting, customer-facing or delivery roles.

  • Experience gathering requirements and supporting technology implementations.
