Who We Are:

MetaCompliance is shaping the future of Human Risk Management. We help organisations turn human risk into human strength by building a culture where secure behaviour becomes second nature. Combining personalisation, innovation, and human support, we deliver security awareness and compliance solutions that create lasting behaviour change.

This is a defining year for us, and we’re looking for an Engineering Manager with the desire to play a meaningful role in shaping what comes next. With the backing of Keensight Capital, we’re entering a new era of global growth—scaling fast and building with intent. James Mackay, our CEO is bringing a clear, progressive vision to the business, rooted in deep industry insight that inspires innovation and excellence. Our strengthened leadership team brings deep expertise in technology, commercial growth, and high-impact scalability.

We’re building a world-class technology function grounded in modern engineering practices, continuous delivery and leveraging AI innovation, coupled with a game-changing product roadmap.

How we work matters just as much as what we’re building. We’re creating an environment where high-performing people can do their best work—backed by flexibility, trust, and a culture that values clarity, collaboration, and mutual respect. You’ll have the autonomy to lead, the support to grow, and the space to bring your ideas of “what good looks like” to life. If you want to do the most impactful work of your career, inspire results that really matter, alongside a team that values communication, collaboration, and progress, we’d love to hear from you!

Why We Are Hiring:

Our engineering organisation has strong potential but is still finding its rhythm – we’re looking for an Engineering Manager who brings empathy, technical confidence, and a genuine focus on people to help shape our capability and future success.

In this role, you’ll lead 3+ cross-functional Scrum teams, guiding them as they grow into high-performing, collaborative groups. You’ll strengthen how we build and deliver software – keeping the focus on secure, scalable, and maintainable systems built on our Microsoft stack (.NET, Azure, SQL Server (React)). You’ll help evolve our engineering standards and delivery practices, driving simplicity, clarity, and value in how we work. Above all, you’ll create a supportive environment where engineers feel trusted, connected, and empowered to do their best work.

You’ll partner closely with peers across Product, QA, Design, and Engineering Leadership to align technical direction with business goals, while fostering open communication and shared accountability. From coaching team leads to mentoring engineers, you’ll cultivate a culture of collaboration, empathy, and continuous improvement – balancing delivery pace with thoughtful technical direction.

This is an opportunity to lead both people and technology – to grow great engineers, guide sound design and delivery decisions, and make a lasting impact on how we build and evolve software at scale.

What We Are Looking For:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support 3+ Scrum teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and product priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture built on trust, ownership, and continuous learning.
  • Coach team leads and develop an environment where engineers grow through feedback and support.
  • Support engineers’ career growth, performance feedback, and hiring in partnership with People and HR.
  • Encourage pragmatic Agile ways of working that strengthen collaboration and delivery.
  • Drive lean delivery by helping teams simplify, optimise workflows, and stay focused on value over complexity.
  • Encourage continuous improvement through reflection, retrospectives, and experimentation.
  • Support teams in delivering secure, maintainable systems on the Microsoft stack (.NET, C#, Azure, SQL Server) through sound engineering practices.
  • Partner with leads and senior individual contributors to align on direction and guide balanced technical decisions.
  • Promote good practices in secure development, code quality, testing, and DevOps.
  • Evolve engineering metrics and guide teams in using them to understand, improve, and share progress.
  • Align team goals with company OKRs and product outcomes to keep teams focused on meaningful value.
  • Provide clarity and structured problem-solving to help teams remove bottlenecks and maintain steady delivery.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams (3+ ideally) in a SaaS or product environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and Lean principles.
  • Excellent people leadership and coaching skills – able to build high-performing, autonomous teams.
  • Great communicator and collaborator – works effectively across product, design, QA, infrastructure, and engineering leadership.
  • Experience applying secure development principles (e.g., OWASP, secure SDLC).
  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with DORA metrics and engineering performance frameworks.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
