Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, the Manager of Software Engineering will lead globally distributed engineering teams at TRG Screen, building a high-performance culture of operational excellence while scaling engineering operations to meet evolving business goals.
This role is responsible for translating engineering strategy into execution—optimizing development processes, providing technical leadership to guide platform modernization, and delivering secure, reliable, scalable solutions. The Manager will own team-level KPI tracking, champion AI-powered code-generation tools to elevate productivity and fuel continuous improvement, and serve as a key connector between engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
This is a people-first leadership role for someone who has grown beyond hands-on delivery but remains technically credible—capable of conducting meaningful code reviews, mentoring engineers at every level, and shaping a culture of engineering excellence across distributed teams.
Responsibilities
- People leadership – Coach and develop direct reports through 1:1s, timely feedback, and career planning. Own performance management end-to-end, contribute to hiring, and enable Technical Leads to focus on their highest-leverage technical work.
- Delivery – Set clear direction and realistic timelines, manage the roadmap with Product and Design, and proactively handle risks, blockers, and dependencies and escalate as needed to DOE. Own team delivery health metrics (print velocity, bug metrics) and provide visibility to DOE.
- Process – Champion Agile practices, ceremonies, and ensure the team has space to act on improvements. Lead incident management and champion a blameless culture.
- Technology – Engage in technical discussions at team level, ensure designs are properly evaluated, and keep team decisions consistent with TRG Screen’s architectural principles and engineering strategy.
- AI governance – Actively drive AI adoption within the team, build capability and measure uptake. Hold the team accountable for AI code quality and own AI feature delivery. Ensure AI is used responsibly and in line with TRG Screen’s AI governance standards.
- Security & communication – Treat secure coding and supply-chain hygiene as standard work. Foster a culture of clear communication, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback across the team and stakeholders.
