Role description:

As a Document Controller at Arcadis, you will support project teams, stakeholders, and clients by managing, controlling, and governing project and organisational information throughout its lifecycle. You will help maintain information quality, effective access, control, and traceability, while supporting document submissions, review cycles, approvals, and information requests across project, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or similar information-intensive environments.
 
Based in either in the South East England and/or Belfast areas, with an eye for process improvement, efficient management of data, and ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, you will form an integral part of successful project delivery teams to support work across the project lifecycle and into operations.

Role accountabilities:

  • Manage project documentation, records, and information workflows throughout the information lifecycle.
  • Support project teams with information requests, document submissions, review cycles, approvals, and distribution.
  • Apply document control principles, including version control, metadata, filing structures, naming conventions, and information governance.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, accessible, and traceable project information.
  • Use and support enterprise document and information management systems such as ProjectWise, AssetWise, Aconex, Asite, SharePoint, or equivalent platforms.
  • Manage information-related queries and communicate document control processes, standards, and requirements clearly.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to resolve document and information management issues.
  • Support appropriate access controls, permissions, secure information handling, and data protection requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of document control and information management processes.
  • Maintain clear records of submissions, reviews, revisions, approvals, and information status.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential
    • Practical experience in Document Control, Information Control, Information Management, or a similar role.
    • Experience managing project documentation, records, information workflows, and document review or approval processes.
    • Understanding of version control, metadata, filing structures, information quality, governance, access, and traceability.
    • Experience using an enterprise document or information management platform, such as ProjectWise, AssetWise, Aconex, Asite, SharePoint, or equivalent.
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at different levels.
    • Strong written communication and a service-oriented approach to resolving information-related queries.
  • Desirable
    • Experience in infrastructure, engineering, construction, utilities, transportation, defence, government, regulated, or similar information-intensive environments.
    • Awareness of ISO 19650 information management principles.
    • Awareness of information security, GDPR, data protection, access controls, permissions, and secure information handling.
    • Experience with Lean, continuous improvement, operational excellence, or business process optimisation.
    • Broader data and digital skills, including Microsoft Fabric, SQL, data pipelines, data quality, data governance, or information architecture.
  • Formal qualifications in Information Management, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline may be beneficial, although relevant practical experience will be prioritised.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop broader digital, data, and information governance capability within a global consultancy environment.
