Would you like to play a key role in decorating new LEGO® bricks with speed, effectiveness, and efficiency?

Here is a great opportunity to use your pre-press experience and graphic illustration skills as Decoration Engineer, when cooperating daily with Product Design organizations (designers), Equipment engineers, test center, production sites and other engineering departments, towards the goal of delivering world class decorations on LEGO® bricks!

No relocation assistance is offered for this position. Physical presence is required.

Core Responsibilities

The Decoration Engineer role has a key position in the novelty graphics development chain. You will work as a connection point enabling decoration from delivered design intent to successful fast paced global production, delivering high quality decoration on LEGO® bricks.

In this role you will:

  • Drive and own the pre-press flow of a portfolio of novelty decorations for LEGO® bricks, from concept to delivery.
  • Deliver proactive decoration recommendations and sparring for graphic design organization and equipment developers in close collaboration throughout the full development process.
  • Secure defined requirements and best practices are followed.
  • Promote documentation, analytical and fact-based approach and decision making.
  • Support the development of, and challenge the processes and procedures used for developing decorations, by curiously applying learnings and optimizations.
  • In specific cases provide specialist support to various development projects in the area.

As a part of Processing Novelty Development, Decoration Development is responsible for maturing new Novelty Decorations and enabling processes for developing new opportunities within decoration capabilities. In Decoration Development, we want to enable and deliver high quality and innovative decorations ready on time for production to run first time through. We are continuously developing processes & capabilities for the graphic prepress and production process to efficiently match the customer and business requirements with a ONE Team spirit.

The team consist of 10 highly dedicated colleagues located in Billund, focused on delivering new novelty decorations alongside developing new graphic decoration processes to achieve even more opportunities for future decorations.

Do you have what it takes?

For the Decoration Engineer role, we are looking for these skills:

  • Skilled using Adobe Illustrator & works graphic illustrations with ease
  • Education within Product Design and Development, Design Engineer or other similar background within engineering in combination with graphic design.
  • Experience working with the steps in the prepress flow.
  • Experience or knowledge within Pad Printing (Tampo print) process, techniques and methods is an advantage but not a must.
  • Material knowledge is an advantage.
  • Structured process mindset and knows how to navigate across IT systems.
  • Positive energy, team mindset, collaborative drive and ability to self-motivate.
  • Strives to overcome technical challenges, with a great eye for the detail.
  • Min. 3-5 years of work experience within similar industry.
