We are looking for a motivated Data Engineer - Power BI who will work exclusively in Power BI to design, build, and most importantly maintain dashboards that support shipboard operations and product analytics. This position will be full-time and remote.
What You'll Do:
The Data Engineer will receive direction from IT Product Analysts and Product Owners to develop dashboards that meet stakeholder criteria
The ideal candidate will be confident managing multiple dashboards, guiding users on how to use them, and developing clear documentation to support long term dashboard sustainability
Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI to support shipboard operations and product analytics
Receive dashboard requirements and direction from IT Product Analysts and Product Owners to tailor solutions to stakeholder needs
Ensure dashboards are accurate, reliable, and updated regularly to reflect current data
Provide ongoing support to users, including answering questions and offering guidance via email
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for dashboard logic, data sources, and usage instructions
Use beginner-level SQL to understand Power BI data connections and Power Query transformations
Identify opportunities to improve dashboard performance and streamline reporting processes
Stay current with Power BI best practices and visualization trends to enhance user experience
What You'll Need:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in data visualization or business intelligence roles
Expertise in Power BI is required; this role will work solely within Power BI
Beginner-level SQL knowledge is essential to understand Power BI data connections and Power Query
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Ability to manage multiple dashboards and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
Experience working with global or cross-functional teams is a plus
Familiarity with shipboard operations or hospitality analytics is an advantage
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
